I just noticed that Adobe has started shipping the Design and Web suites. You can pick up a copy on the Adobe store or on Amazon.
Overall I am thrilled to see this finally released, really looking forward to seeing what people start creating with all this great integration between the new products.
The public betas of After Effects Pro CS3 & Premiere Pro CS3 are both available for download at the Adobe labs site.
This has been a big year for Adobe, first releasing the public beta of Lightroom, then Photoshop and now these two programs. Just goes to show how close Adobe is to the community. Of course it also doesn’t hurt companies like Apple that will get some MacPro sales with the ability to run Premiere on the Mac once again.
Adobe also released beta 3 of Soundbooth today, seems that company was very busy this past week.
Wasn’t 100% sure if I would have attended, but I guess the decision is easier now. There is no official reason for cancelling it, but I am guessing it has to do with pricing and timing.
If they waited until after all this software was available to the public then I think more people would have been interested. However regardless of timing, a conference at $1500 is too expensive unless your company pays for it. Which we all know is very hard to pull off if your self employed.
Still have FlashForward in the fall, which is coming to Boston this time around.
I am not normally one to groan about things, but a couple of things have been on my mind.
First up is sites that split articles across multiple pages just to get more ad impressions. Generally if I notice this I just stop reading the article. In some cases I understand the reason to split the article up, but not when it is a paragraph per page.
The other thing that recently got to me was an article on ComputerWorlds site where they listed the “Top 10 Firefox plugins to avoid”. Which in itself could be useful, but not when they said avoid NoScript unless you are a geek or AdBlock because it hurts sites. It is my choice to block ads, but why woudl they say different since every page has 10 ads. What is even funnier is the ads aren’t even relevant, at least Google ads are semi-helpful to the reader.
That’s it for today and I will make sure not to make a habit out of this, I am just fed up with certain things.
Still getting back in to the swing of things from my week off at PhotoshopWorld. I noticed that Microsoft is updating the Xbox360 dashboard with chat features, improved downloading and overall enhancements to widen the gap between the other consoles.
