Ubuntu on a Dell

ubuntulogo.jpgThis isn’t the first time Dell has shown support for Linux or Open Source for that matter, but it is still nice to see. Not much in the way of details at the moment but it looks promising. Of course you can download Ubuntu or request a live CD to test it out yourself.

I have Ubuntu on one of my VMWare installs and I also have it running on one of my very old laptops. Doing so makes for some very easy cross-browser testing.

HD-DVD Night

censorship2.jpgThis is a grey topic, but also close to a comedy bit. Basically what happened is a group uncovered the magic HD-DVD number, that unlocks all HD-DVDs. That in itself isn’t groundbreaking news, but the blogging and web community lighting up on digg for temporarily removing all submissions about it was.

Rudd-O posted a 17 page epic event documenting the strain his server took on “HD-DVD Night”. Topping it all off with being /. which forced him to manage the site by the minute.

The story hasn’t lost steam either, in fact I am sure it is only the beginning.. only time will tell. I leave you with this note:
