Essential ActionScript 3 is now out in your local stores should be soon, but this copy just arrived to my door from O’REILLY. I had the chance to edit and beta test this book and it was a great experience. The book is recommended for anyone that wants to get serious with ActionScript 3 and it very easy to follow while still making sure you learn advanced topics.
Being able to help out the book was cool for sure, but seeing your name in the credits is 10x cooler! Thanks Colin, it was a great time.

After getting about 50 (not kidding) emails and comments I have decided the contact form needs an update. At the same time I wanted to let everyone know that the contact form in the How To WOW with Flash book is feature complete and ready to go.. so go pick up the book.
Back to the new form, not many details being discussed at this point, but here is a screen shot and a partial list:
- Changeable styles
- Dynamic form creation
- Captcha support
- AS3 compatible (in fact it will be in As3 exclusively)
- more details later
Please note this is ONLY being developed in my free time which as you may or may not know isn’t very frequent.

If you have questions or comment please post, I will be building this based on user response.
Well after a few months of phone research I finally get to put it to an end tomorrow. I have decided to go with the Blackberry Curve.. it was going to be the pearl but the SureType keyboard bugs me. The size was a factor, but I found the curve is shaped perfect and is only “slightly” wider than the Pearl.
Now normally the post would end here, but thanks to Cingular/ATT it doesn’t. Turns out that because of the iPhone (destined to fail) it is going to cost me $45 a month for the data plan, which after talking to my friend has gone up $15. It is either because of the companies merging or the phone.. I don’t know for sure, but it upset me to say the least.
Soon enough I will be posting my thoughts on the Blackberry and as bonus how it works on the mac. At this time I will open the floor to comments on BB, Cingular/ATT and the iPhone.
for pre-order.. that is according to an email I got from Amazon. At first glance it seemed too good to be true and sure enough it was. Personally I am kind of tired of the pre-order thing, Halo 3 on order 8 months before it is out and now this.
Also I noticed that Amazon states it will lower the price if it does indeed happen, but do they raise it as well like the airlines do?
Now as far as the Leopard OS is concerned it looks very good and soon enough I will write my thoughts on it. I have been following this release from many angles, but this action by Amazon just struck me as a little misleading.. kind of like this posts title.
Well with the launch of the iPhone on the horizon I figured I would add my thoughts into the pool. First impression I wanted to pre-order that new phone, but after stepping back and looking at what it had to offer I began to really second guess myself.
The first gen phone won’t be 3G, only touchpad, no instant messengers, no mms and the list of not-available goes on. Then there is the fact it is rev 1 of Apple hardware.. just think back to the MacBook Pro’s.. need I say more. The other sticking point is the rumor that Cingular won’t be offering a no-plan purchase.. that leaves me right out as I am NOT resigning a contract.
I will update my thoughts once it is released and my good friend will be getting one so I can post back some first hand use info come end of June.
