I'm too cheap, plus I really enjoy the freedom of not having a contract. I bought an unlocked Motorola Ming on Amazon a few months ago, and I'm not really sure I like it as much as I thought I would. But if I want, I can just sell it and get something different anytime I want to as long as it takes SIM cards and operates on a US-friendly GSM band. The iPhone kinda makes me feel locked in.
