After looking at the “updated” iPhone that was just released it just didn’t do it for me. The 3G is nice, but the new plan and contract is not. The battery life is even lower on 3G and from testing the apps while on the road on the iPhone this weekend they just suck that battery away.
So basically I am skipping iPhone 3G, installed 2.0 on my current iPhone and that will be good enough.
However I will be buying a Blackberry Bold (coming soon). After looking at the tech specs which includes WIFI I was sold. The removable battery and externally accessible memory card just sealed the deal.
If you don’t have an iPhone at the moment I do still highly recommend it.. its an amazing piece of hardware. Just the new one doesn’t bring enough “newness” to blow good pricing and terms I have now.
The Nokia 6682 was a great phone in its day (about 1 year ago) but now it isn’t living up to the task of email and business usage. Part of that is due to a recent outbreak of spam on my account, but it is also because the phone lacks any substantial memory.. and the screen is small.
That being said I am looking for a new phone and I have quickly found out it isn’t an easy task. I am currently looking at the lineup from Blackberry as well as the Treo and the potential of the iPhone.
The blackberry has email usage beat hands down, it can watch up to 10 email accounts and notify you when email comes in, the Treo can only do that to 1 email account at a time. The Treo offers more programs ( Flash for one
it is a bit of hoop jumping to make Flash run on a Palm ) but at a sacrifice of battery life and last but not least the mysterious iPhone which isn’t available yet and no one really knows how well it is going to perform.

I guess it basically comes down to a battle of the Treo against the Blackberry, any thoughts on which avenue I should go down?
I would like to note that Cingular charges $30 for the Blackberry data connect and $40 for the Treo data plan. Funny since each do the exact same thing, but for some strange reason the BB is cheaper.
All sorts of news from the west coast. First up my friend sent this image to me from CES in Las Vegas where my Delphi Flash Demo is being displayed on a kiosk for attendees to see/experience first hand. Early December Delphi released a web application for the SKYFi 3 that I had developed and now it has been extended to the kiosk for trade shows. This was a great honor and one I wasn’t even aware of when I developed the demo.
Here is a photo of the Delphi Kiosk

Next up on news from the west coast comes the announcement of the iPhone from San Francisco MacWorld. This phone will be available in June which means my current Nokia will have to survive a few more months… hopefully it will.
