I haven’t had any free time to wirte anything and do apologize for that. However I have some projects that I am working on, one of which is my updated website built 100% of Flash modules. That in itself isn’t huge news but the twist to this update is once completed all of the source code (excluding security and server modules) will be made publically available. Stay tuned for further updates.
In other news:
Update: Bridge CS3 beta 2 updater released on January 18, 2007.
The quote says it all, Bridge CS3 beta was updated. This isn’t BREAKING NEWS but I still find it very cool what Adobe is doing this time around. Of course you can also get the Photoshop CS3 Public Beta (valid CS2 serial number required).

Hello from Florida. Adobe announced the public beta of Photoshop today, this is the first time Photoshop has been on a public beta which is saying a lot for how great a company Adobe is. In this version you will notice much better speed on the “Mactel”. Adobe really made it a point to focus on this and they did a great job. The new “Clone Soure” tool now offers a much better way to retouch from multiple source documents. As seen in the article I wrote for Photoshop Cafe.
Some of the Features:
Clone Source
Smart Filters
Updated ACR
2600% zoom level
Black and White adjustments
Updated Bridge
Keep in Mind
This release of Photoshop CS3 is beta software.
Please post your comments and as always be a community member by participating in the Adobe Labs Forum.
The beta will be available on Friday.
After I return from my few days off I will be writing some more tutorials for Photoshop Cafe as well as my own scriptplayground.com.
Recently I stumbled upon this awesome designer’s portfolio, where he retouches a series of images to create stunning advertising. Not only is his work amazing but what really caught my eye on the site is the fact he walks the viewer through the process of creating the ads. He shows the scans, comps and revisions that led to the completed picture. Continue Reading »
One of my friends informed me of very cool freeware application that allows you to view Photoshop brushes without ever opening Photoshop. The ABRViewer was written by Luigi Bellanca of Italy. This tool allows you to preview, test, manage and cache thumbnails of your favorite brushes.
The following text straight from the site explains the program nicely.
There are lots of wonderful brush sets for photoshop in the web… too many to install them all just to see what they look like! now you can have the preview of a set without having to install it… without having to run photoshop! You can even adjust thumbnails size and you can have the preview of the actual size of the brush… you can also try it out!people who publish brush sets on their personal websites need to provide users with previews. This software is able to generate images for every single brush and can also generate the general image from the panel of the thumbnails you have visualised. I think it’s great, don’t you?
Here is a screengrab that showcases the brush panel and brush preview.

The program does require the .NET framework but that can quickly be downloaded from Microsoft.
