In this day and age with project managers and copy artists, why do so many ads have misspelled copy? The latest one brought to my attention by my designer cousin, in Florida, can be seen on the Project Runway web site.
On top of that I can count at least another dozen times where something was not spelled correctly. Whether it be a URL, business name or body text. Most of these studios have computers, probably have Word and excluding proper names, could stand to use it sometimes.
Here is the ad on Bravo’s site, should still be there as well.

I have found many neat applications while browsing the internet, but I think one of the more useful ones would have to be yelp. This site is built up of reviews and ratings on everything from where to eat all the way to where to shop. I only recently joined the site, but quickly found myself addicted because I was writing about some really fun times in the past, and I think as a bonus I have the most remote review, being a restaurant in the deep woods of Maine.
Before I end this post I wanted to let you know about a family member of mine which has recently published some of her photography, which can be found on her flickr page. Most recently Teisha had the opportunity to do an on-the-spot photo shoot with Brian Ernst, who is a One Man Band that is currently traveling the country playing some really awesome music. So, if you have a chance please take a moment to check out her photos and leave a comment or two, I think you will like what you see.

A few years back (4 to be exact) I was part of a forum based project where we each designed a playing card to complete a deck of cards. This was my first PHP project where I allowed the members to auto-register, pick a card, add their entry and allow the staff to approve uploads.
Here is the old project archived on my server.
After speaking with some of my friends and members from the original project I have decided to resurrect it for 2008. This time around I am hoping it goes quicker and if sponsorship is intact I will even pursue printing the deck of cards.
Feel free to comment here or over at PhotoshopCafe if your interested in joining. I want to make sure the interest is still in this before I relaunch it.
Getting advanced copies of music has never been a problem because of torrents and other means, but this is the first time I have seen iTunes with an advanced copy.
The latest Armin van Buuren is slated for a December 4th release, but I was just able to pick up the complete CD on iTunes tonight (Dec. 1st).
It even shows a release date of the 4th, but lets you buy all of the individual tracks or the complete CD.

I hope this sort of system continues for other music, it would be pretty useful and got me to buy a CD I wasn’t planning on for a week.

Earlier today I received an email from iStockPhoto stating that I had some credits set to expire in 90 days. Fair enough, they give me warning that this is going to happen, but I came to an interesting thought, why do electronic credits expire? I mean, my emergency $20 in my wallet isn’t void after a certain date and that change in my couch from 5 years ago gets me a candy bar, so why can’t I use my credits when I want to?

I remember the Simon mall franchise doing this same sort of expiration system to their gift cards. Difference is, Massachusetts has a law in place that states gift cards cannot expire. Although you will still find stores attempting to hide this fact unless you mention it.
The expiration just means I will have to buy images soon. It still isn’t right and maybe if enough people complained it would change.. but probably not. Since we all know big business doesn’t listen.
