Getting advanced copies of music has never been a problem because of torrents and other means, but this is the first time I have seen iTunes with an advanced copy.
The latest Armin van Buuren is slated for a December 4th release, but I was just able to pick up the complete CD on iTunes tonight (Dec. 1st).
It even shows a release date of the 4th, but lets you buy all of the individual tracks or the complete CD.

I hope this sort of system continues for other music, it would be pretty useful and got me to buy a CD I wasn’t planning on for a week.

Earlier today I received an email from iStockPhoto stating that I had some credits set to expire in 90 days. Fair enough, they give me warning that this is going to happen, but I came to an interesting thought, why do electronic credits expire? I mean, my emergency $20 in my wallet isn’t void after a certain date and that change in my couch from 5 years ago gets me a candy bar, so why can’t I use my credits when I want to?

I remember the Simon mall franchise doing this same sort of expiration system to their gift cards. Difference is, Massachusetts has a law in place that states gift cards cannot expire. Although you will still find stores attempting to hide this fact unless you mention it.
The expiration just means I will have to buy images soon. It still isn’t right and maybe if enough people complained it would change.. but probably not. Since we all know big business doesn’t listen.
Well NBC decides to leave iTunes, roll there own video player and then thinks a non cross-browser/os applciation is going to take off?
Then to top it off they used Windows Media Player to distribute the video? I am going to pass on this one even though I do have the PC if needed.
They could have used Flash/AIR and created a great app, but instead you get this:

Foamee helps track who you owe beers to (and vice versa)
Learn how (need a Twitter account, but who doesn’t have one of those)
This is a pretty neat concept built by Dan of SimpleBits.
Go check it out and start sending beers.
While reading some comments on a popular design site I decided to do a little poking around the posters site and quickly was introduced to “The38thSignal” which if you know design is some non-original attempt to be like 37 Signals a wonderful design and development web site as well as a group of the top people in the industry. Now this isn’t a direct rip, but clearly without an sense of originality and to even go as far as to host it on Blogger and use the same color scheme.. wow, just wow… well, I am off to register a new idea now 10Rules and AColumnApart
Update: After getting an email from a friend it has come to my attention that the site is in parody, but for reasons I have yet to understand.
